TRIMPACK

In a world where we are trying to reduce the amount of plastic waste, Temkin PPC is taking action by reducing our printed and clear stock by ½ inch. In doing so, we will save 59,400lbs of plastic every year. That means less plastic is being produced, and less plastic is ending up in landfills.

EARTH FRIENDLY FILMS

LDPE – LOW DENSITY POLYETHYLENE

LDPE is a substantially linear polymer (polyethylene), since LLDPE maintains its base properties during the recycling process, it is a commonly recycled material. It can be recycled again and again, eliminating waste while servingcountless functions. It is resistant to impact (doesn’t break easily), moisture (water proof), and chemicals (can standup to many hazardous materials).

LDPE – Low-Density Polyethylene

  • Bags (e.g., clear, thin newspaper bags)
  • Dry cleaning film
  • Unpigmented films have moderate clarity, slightly tacky feel to the touch.
STANDARD RECYCLABLE MATERIALS

These products can be taken to a commercial recycling facility to be converted into useful materials for new products.

Recycling programs and facilities are readily available in most regions.

BOPP Recyclable PP #5

  • Very good stiffness and exceptional clarity, ideal for sleeves, sheets, and flat bags
  • Contains no heavy metals or other environmentally hazardous substances

COMPOSTABLE FILMS

When taken to a professional composting facility, these plant-based films will breakdown within 15 weeks. The compost mixture can then be used to encourage the growth of new crops.

  • Just 0.3kg of CO2 generated per kg of polymer produced
  • Biodegrades in a maximum of 44 days when composted at a commercial composting facility
  • Excellent shelf life under recommended conditions (-70° to 125° F in supported applications)

  • Per 100lbs. of PLA material used, nearly 14 gallons of gas are recovered, enough CO2 is reduced to offset allemissions from a car for over 6 weeks, and enough energy is saved to power a 100-watt lightbulb for 8 months

KRAFT

The natural resources on our planet are limited so we must make the most to conserve, recycle and reuse whenever possible- that is one of the many reasons why we love Kraft Paper. Kraft Paper can be made from recycled materials, is 100% recyclable, and biodegrades in just a few weeks. It’s production is also self-sustaining as the chemicals used in the kraft process are recovered and reused.

COMPOSTABLE FILMS LASER ANILOX CLEANER

By using a Laser Anilox Cleaner, we reduce water and energyconsumption during our plate cleaning process. The Laser Anilox Cleaner is also compliant with international safety regulations, uses an energy-efficient air extraction system, eliminates messy waste,and has faster cleaning cycles.

REGENERATIVE THERMAL OXIDIZER- (RTO)

At Temkin PPC we are driven by a desire to preserve a healthy environment for future generations and make it a top priority to set a cleaner, greener standard for the packaging industry.

One way in which we do this is by offering sustainable packaging solutions with materials such as mineral paper, kraft paper, biologic, and stone wrap. However our commitment to the environment extends beyond just our product offerings and into the use of sustainable solutions in our production facilities as well.

One such solution is the use of Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers (RTOs) inour manufacturing plants which help us meet the most stringent air pollutionabatement regulations. These RTO systems reduce our carbon footprint bydestroying any volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that may be created in ourmanufacturing process. VOCs may include air toxins, oders, and hazardous airpollutants. It’s important to destroy VOCs so that they don’t escape into theenvironment where they can then cause harm to people, animals, and accumulatein the atmosphere and cause thick smog formation.

RTOs work through a process known as oxidation. In this process exhaust aircreated from industrial processes are redirected into a combustion chamber. Herethe VOCs are then exposed to extremely high temperatures ranging from 815°C(1,500°F) to 980°C (1,800°F) until 99%+ of pollutants are destroyed. Through thisprocess VOCs are transformed into carbon dioxide, water, and heat.
